What is breast augmentation?

Breast implants are silicone implants surgically placed in the body to increase or shape the breast volume. Breast implant surgery can be performed with or without lift, depending on the person's needs. Lifting is recommended for sagging or very asymmetrical breasts. The aesthetic surgeon will make the appropriate decision depending on the person's current condition. The size and type of implants are decided together with the aesthetic surgeon according to the person's request and current condition. The surgery takes an average of 1-2 hours and is performed under general anesthesia.

Healing Process

• There may be swelling, bruising and pain in the first 1-2 weeks. It will be balanced with medication.

• It may be necessary to use a protective bra and bandage for 2 months.

• Excessive movement of the arms should be avoided, weight lifting should be avoided, and heavy exercise should be avoided for 2 months.

• Edema may continue for a few months. The best results are observed between 6 months and 1 year.

How Long Can Breast Implants Last?

FDA-approved and good quality breast implants usually last between 10-15 years, but every woman's body structure is different. Over time, the risk of capsular contracture in the tissues of the body is a possible outcome. Therefore, regular check-ups and monitoring are important.
