What is the Chin Implant procedure?

Chin implant surgery is a surgical procedure performed to correct or enhance the jaw structure by placing implants in the jaw area. This procedure is usually performed to correct jaw deformities resulting from an anomaly in the jaw area or to strengthen the jaw structure. It can also be used to help correct facial disproportion. Chin implant surgery can be performed under general anesthesia. Most of the time, the implant is placed through a small incision placed under the jaw (inside the gums). This prevents external scarring. The surgery takes 1-2 hours.

Recovery Process

First 1-2 Weeks: Swelling and bruising may occur, but pain is usually mild.

1-3 Weeks: Swelling in the face has greatly decreased, normal activities can be resumed.

3-6 Months: This is the period when the implant settles and the stitches are completely healed.

1 Year: Full results can be seen, the change in the appearance of the chin is completely settled.
